  20. Auxiliary NetWare Lite Files
  21.  
  22. Included with NetWare Lite are four extra programs that are not
  23. documented.  These files are not needed for NetWare Lite to run,
  24. but add fun and functionality.  They are: DEDICATE.COM, DEMO.EXE, 
  25. NETBIOS.EXE, and NLSNIPES.EXE.
  26.  
  27. DEDICATE.COM -- DEDICATE is a little program that can be run on a
  28. server to improve performance.  It is a useful program to be run
  29. on NetWare Lite machines that are acting as dedicated servers; or
  30. if a machine is a server/client and the client is not going to be
  31. active for a while.  To run DEDICATE, type DEDICATE when in the
  32. C:\NWLITE subdirectory on the machine running SERVER.EXE.

  34. DEMO.EXE -- DEMO is a networking demonstration program that shows
  35. how workstations can communicate using shared file access.  When
  36. run, a "worm" is shown moving around on the screens of the
  37. workstations running DEMO.EXE.  As the "worm" covers each screen,
  38. eventually the word "LITE" is shown.  To run DEMO, change to the
  39. same directory on the same server on each machine that will be
  40. running DEMO.  With DEMO.EXE in your PATH, type DEMO and press
  41. ENTER on each workstation.  DEMO works best if run in a
  42. Left-to-Right fashion.  That is, starting on the left-most
  43. workstation, run DEMO.EXE and move right running DEMO on each
  44. machine.  The screens are "connected" starting left and moving
  45. right in the order which DEMO was started.  Once running, you can
  46. drive your "worm" using the arrow key.  DEMO will only support 9
  47. workstations running simultaneously.

  49. NETBIOS.EXE -- This is the NETBIOS that is included with regular
  50. NetWare.  It can be loaded any time after IPXODI is loaded.  Some
  51. applications require the presence of NETBIOS.  For this reason
  52. NETBIOS is provided with NetWare Lite.  For more documentation on
  53. NETBIOS.EXE, contact the nearest Novell Authorized Reseller.

  55. NLSNIPES.EXE -- NLSNIPES is a game.  One to five users can play
  56. at a time.  Everyone who wants to play NLSNIPES must map a drive
  57. to the same Network directory on the same server.  To run, type
  58. NLSNIPES.  You will then be asked for two initials, this uniquely
  59. identifies your "man" as you play.  The first person to run
  60. NLSNIPES is the "starter".  As people run NLSNIPES and enter
  61. their initials, they will see the initials of the other players
  62. that are entering the game.  Once the desired group is ready, the
  63. "starter" will press ENTER to begin.  Move your "man" through the
  64. maze killing snipes, generators, and other "men".  For
  65. instructions on how to move and shoot, type "NLSNIPES /H" at the
  66. command-line.
